Aerial fertiliser application

Why use aerial topdressing?

For many farmers in New Zealand, topdressing with fertiliser is complicated by the challenging terrain on their land. When land is too steep for safe access by groundspreading machinery, aerial topdressing is the only feasible alternative if soil fertility is to be maintained.

Technical information

Ballance offers an aerial topdressing service through its subsidiary company, Super Air. Super Air planes are fitted with differential GPS technology that helps ensure fertiliser is spread in an economical and environmentally safe manner. Ask your Ballance technical sales representative about aerial topdressing services in your district, or have a look at the ‘in your region' section of this website to see if Super Air pilots operate near you.
