YaraLiva Nitrabor is a fast-acting calcium nitrate fertiliser especially formulated for crops requiring extra boron or for soils that are low in boron. It can be clearly distinguished from other nitrate grades by its delicate yellow colour.
The trace element boron is thought to play a crucial role in the healthy development of plants, particularly through the stabilisation of cell walls and membranes. There is some evidence that this activity is closely linked with calcium, in that adequate levels of boron enhance the uptake of calcium by plants. Plants supplied with sufficient boron suffer from a lower incidence of deficiency symptoms such as black heart, internal cork and brittle plant tissue. By supplying plants with both boron and rapidly available calcium YaraLiva Nitrabor helps correct any deficiencies of these nutrients and promotes healthy cell growth. YaraLiva Nitrabor also contains nitrogen, primarily in the readily available nitrate form, the preferred nitrogen source for most horticultural and high-value crops. Nitrabor readily dissolves on contact with the soil in humid or dewy conditions, carries a low risk of scorch and does not acidify the soil or rhizosphere.
