YaraBela CAN is calcium ammonium nitrate, a fast-acting granular fertiliser ideally suited for use in intensive cropping situations, where crop yield and quality are of paramount concern.
YaraBela CAN delivers two forms of nitrogen - nitrate and ammonium - to the soil. Nitrate N is the form of N preferred by most plants. It is easily taken up through the roots and transported to the growing tips of leaves and shoots. However, in the soil, nitrate is vulnerable to loss by leaching, which can become a problem in cool, wet conditions. On the other hand, ammonium is retained in the soil considerably longer in these situations. By supplying ammonium along with nitrate, YaraBela CAN offers both an immediate and a sustained source of nitrogen for plants. YaraBela CAN also supplies calcium, which helps to avoid late-season disorders such as internal brown spot in potatoes, blossom end rot in tomatoes and bitter pit in apples. Magnesium deficiencies can also occur in intensively farmed horticultural systems, and the magnesium in YaraBela CAN will help address these.
